Camden Community

 

The Camden Bahá’i community currently comprises some 50 – 60 members who originate from a wide variety of social and economic backgrounds. We have representatives from Germany, Italy, Australia, Iran, Africa and also ‘home grown’ members from the United Kingdom. There is a host of different professions from doctors and lawyers to musicians and authors........ Camden has been fortunate to possess a relatively large group of youth and younger adults amongst its ranks, a feature that injects an energy and sense of dynamism within the activities of the group........Some historically important Bahá’is have lived in Hampstead, the most significant of whom, Dr. Hasan Balyuzi, significantly advanced the pursuit of Bahá’i scholarship and was appointed as a Hand of the Cause in 1957 by the Guardian of the Bahá’i Faith, Shoghi Effendi.........The Camden Bahá’is organise monthly devotional meetings that are open to all and take place in the Town Hall opposite Belsize Park underground station...........For more information on the Bahá’is contact us locally by e-mail, or try the National Office by telephone.
